The statistics say Cancer affects 1 in 3 people, so what's the chances that in my family both my Mum and Dad have been diagnosed with Cancer in the past 6 months.

I can only say to be told that your loved one has Cancer is one of the most shocking and scary things any family can be told, and when its both your parents its twice as scary.

Everyone knows someone who has been affected by Cancer and I have to be honest and say before Cancer came to my family's door I was blissfully ignorant and didn't understand the impact Cancer can have on a family.  But I've learnt a lot too........Ive learned that Cancer is very treatable and lots of people can Beat it :-)  

So my sister Niamh & I (and Tierna in spirit) have decided (even though we are extremely unfit) that we should be doing our bit to give something back and raise some money for Cancer Research, a charity that means a lot to us at the minute.  If you can give anything no matter how small we would really appreciate it.
