I'm running in memory of my dear step dad, Dave, and for all too many of my friends and family that have had to deal with cancer. I hope to raise money so that people like him and my mum can live happy and healthy lives together.
Dave was a fabulous man and I miss him terribly everyday. He was always the life and soul of any occasion and infamous for doing daft things. A few of my favourites are climbing Snowdon with me and doing headstands at the top, waiting til midnight to drive out for the first time in the new cabstar truck, and bringing home a bucket of snow from work when none had fallen at home so I could play with it. We used to spur each other on with 'double dog dares ya' - obviously ridiculous things happened as a result, and being opinionated and stubborn critters we also used to drive each other to distraction at times! I have so many memories of him doing wonderful things for me and for us, most of all how happy he made my mum and how family always came first. He battled bravely but lost his fight in November 2006.
