I just ran 3.79 Miles in 1:01:31 at a pace of 16:13 and thought you might want to take a look: http://www.walkjogrun.net/members/ccusworth/training?v=session&sid=C04D7107-299F-4F65-94AB-40EC8209CB8E #walkjogrunapp

Eek - only three weeks to go! Went out for another run this morning. My trainer, Martin, definitely has missed a vocation in the army! Lt. Kendrick would be proud! On plus side, progress is being made and I get to reward self now with some healthy brioche.

Colleen in a race???

I've decided to do something completely out of character and take part in the Oxford Race for Life.

I watched a documentary the other week (yes, talking of out-of-character activities) and it said that more than one in three people will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime. The most common forms of cancer are prostate in men and breast in women.  The numbers are pretty scary, and just in the UK alone, someone gets diagnosed with cancer once every two minutes.

So, married with a selfish desire to get a little fitter, I have decided to take part in the Race for Life on Sunday 15th July.

Anyone who knows me will know that the idea of running scares the bejeezes out of me, and I am not a sporty person to say the least.  This really is me opening myself up to public humiliation - but for a worthy cause.

Money raised for the Race for Life will be invested into the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.  As the charity doesn't receive government funding for its research, it really does rely on donations.

Thanks for reading this and rallying me on.  I'll update this page every now and then with my progress on preparing for the race, as well as perhaps the odd disturbing picture.  If you could sponsor me and donate to Cancer Research UK, that really would be great.

Thanks,

Colleen
