Story
Many of our lives have been touched by cancer in one way or another, whether it be the personal loss of a close family member or friend, helping smeone through their battle with cancer or giving support to friends who have lost someone to cancer. Everyone, it seems has a story to tell, and all these stories, whatever the final outcome, have the same underlying themes of strength and dignity.
The Beagrie family has lost a number of frinds and relatives to cancer over the years; John Usher and Dennis Farquharson to name but two.
So, this is my way of letting them know that they are forever in our thoughts and hearts.
The picture opposite is of me at the end of last years race, which I half walked and half jogged. It rained and rained and rained and rained and rained (you get the picture). I was soaked through to the skin and my joggng bottoms were so wet that the weight of the water in them kept pulling them down! It was not a comfortable experience but the atmosphere was fanastic. So as well as sponsoring me this year please could you all say a little prayer for a bit of dry weather on the day - much appreciated :-)
Oh and the cute little baby in the corner of the picture is my gorgeous son, Joseph - he braved the rain to cheer me on - bless him.
I am going to do some training this year and am hoping to run the whole 5K - but knwing me I'll probably manage just about manage some of that odd half running/half walking lope.
Many thanks
Emma
