Race for Life Peterborough 2011 · 12 June 2011 ·
Hi there,
As many of you may know my mother in law Shirley Blower passed away 4th April 2011 with aggresive bowl and overian cancer. She was badly let down by a certain hospital and for 9 weeks they did absoulute nothing, until they finally decided to send her home. Over the days she gradually went down hill and 10 days after coming home from hosptial she had gone. The family was not even told the extent of what her diagnois was, so this came as a great great shock.
Shirley had bowl cancer last year and beat it once but this time it was to aggressive and took hold. This has left a great hole in many peoples life and as my brother in law Andrew so rightly said at the funeral ' the family chain has broken'.
The lesson in life this has taught me is to live each day and to value your family, never let silly arguments or people stirring up trouble let this effect your relationship. You only get one 'real' Mum so value each and every moment. To Gerald, Andrew, Richard and Deborah I feel for you all and I hope I make you proud by doing this.
Many people will know I am not the fittest of people and I love my food, so race for life is not going to be easy, so Shirley I am doing this in memory of you and to try and raise money for people and hope that they do not get failed like you did. We can think 'what if' a hundred times and if only this could bring you back!
