Our beautiful mum/ sister/ cousin/ friend, Nicola was devastatingly diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer aged 36. On the 13th October 2002, despite vigorous treatment, breast cancer beat her in the fight for her life. Her worst fear of not seeing her children grow up came true.
She left behind Talisa, aged 9, Gidon aged 7, and Limor, aged only 4, husband Nick, sister and brother Joanne and Bernhard, mum Barbara, family and friends, all who miss her so much.
1 in 3 of us will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in our lives and 1 in 9 women will be affected with breast cancer. Although survival is increasing year on year, there is still no cure.
10 years have flown by so quickly and so much has changed, especially progress in the field of cancer treatment. This is partly thanks to events like Race for Life raising millions for Cancer Research UK.
Race for Life is a 5km event aiming to raise money for those affected by cancer and their loved ones. We are attempting to run/ jog/ walk/ hobble our way around the course. Those who know us well will realise that we are much better friends with food than exercise!
