Events like Race for Life are an important way in which Cancer Research UK is able to fund its life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer.

The treatment I received when I was ill was still in it's early stages of development and was fully supported by Cancer Research. Without the work they had done to find this new way of treating the cancer I had my treatment could have been a lot more intrusive and prolonged than it was. I was very lucky to have been able to benefit from this treatment and cannot emphasise the impact that cancer has on people, even years down the line.
