Story
Hi it's Chloe and guess what, it's race for life time again and this time we're back with a bigger team!!
Race for life has a big impact across the UK as it helps to raise money to research new ways of treating cancer. Cancer is a illness which affects 1 in 3 people and the more money we can raise to find out the causes, the less people will be affected by it.
Unfortunately we've had our fair share of cancer. In 2004 we lost my lovely Nannie to breast cancer, age 56. Then in 2005, when I was 6, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Luckily I managed to recover from it after 27 months of chemotherapy treatment and lots of hospital stays. Then in 2009, aged 36, mum was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have a mastectomy and radiotherapy, followed by another mastectomy in January of this year. We really hope that we can make a difference to other families living with cancer by taking part in Race for Life so anything you feel you can sponsor us for, big or small, will be really appreciated.
This year we have a fantastic team taking part and we all have very special people that we will be thinking of as we run, jog or walk our 5km.
Pauline and Georgia will be thinking of their Dad and Grandad, "Every step we take is a thought for you, Dad and Grandad. Miss you so much. All our love, Pauline and Georgia xxxxxxxxx
Wendy and Holly will be thinking of Grandad and Bee.
Caroline and Rhiannon will be thinking of a special Nan and Great Nan.
Jane will be thinking of auntie Sue Scott, Uncle Eric and friend Geoff Deal
Karen and Ruby are taking part in celebration of Mother in law and Nan, Maureen for her successful recovery from breast cancer.
Louise, Chris, Ellen and Abigail will be thinking of special friends and family.
Becki and Syd will be thinking of a special mum and nannie and also mum in law and nan.
We will all be thinking of Terry.
