A group of us girlies, recently took part in Race for Life [19 June in Edinburgh], to support our friend, Lesley, who has recently undergone 5 months of chemotherapy followed by a masectomy and breast reconstruction operation.  She completed her course of radiotherapy treatment on 8th June and is now on the road to recovery.  You're nearly there girl!

Vivien Gunaratne, who also joined Team Lesley on 19 June,  has been fundraising seperately on justgiving and has raised over £300. Well done Viv! Since Lesley discovered she had breast cancer in Sept 2010, she has been an absolute legend...organising a halloween party and birthday party for her 1 year old son as well as entertaining friends at her house with home made scones and tea! She's faced her treatment with a smile and has been an absolute inspiration to all of us!  Please dig deep and sponsor Team Lesley online – it’s quick, easy and totally secure.

Once Lesley is better, she intends to speak at forums about what she's been through and would like to take an active role in raising awareness of breast cancer.  She will be walking with her mum, at the Race for Life event in Edinburgh on 19 June, and Team Lesley will be supporting her all the way, with their faces painted with pink designs, wearing Team Lesley t-shirts and pink hair accessories, so please do sponsor us.
