Thank you for visiting my page! I am running the race for life for Cancer Research UK on May 19th in Bristol.
These kind of things are never particularly easy to write - but here goes - This is the kind of thing I've wanted to do for a while as cancer has affected more than one of my family members, many close friends and their families too. This is particularly personal to me as my mum passed away from the illness.
You can sponsor me easily through this site, Any donation is greatly appreciated from a £1 or
whatever you can spare will make a difference)

Tuesday 27th March
I've decided to run the race for life!
I am currently in Scotland visiting a family member who has been dianosed with cancer. Sadly this is not my first encounter with cancer and having lost my mother to this illness and also having had many friends and thier family being affected I've decided today that it might be a nice idea to do something positive and raise a little money for cancer research uk. I've not done anything like this before but am looking forward to the challenge and will start my training tomorrow.....
Friday 30th March
Went for a run on the beach in North Berwick today and it felt great, something about being by the sea makes me feel really peaceful and energised. Have been running or walking for the past couple of days and am starting to get addicted.....
Monday 16th April
Went back to uni today, so lots of revising for exams and coursework but still managing to go for a walk or a run most days despite the fact that I've had flu and so am feeling very sorry for myself!
Monday 23rd of April
Feeling much better now so went for a run this morning, inspired by my good friend Sam Dymond who sucessfully completed the London marathon yesterday! I'm so proud of him!
I realised I haven't really promoted my page so have sent an email to everyone so hopefully the donations will start coming in.... Have also managed to convince a couple of freinds to do it with me and will now be joined by Olivia Baker and Vanda Rocha (will post thier pages here when I know what they are)
Wednesday 26th April Have sent serious amounts of MySpace messages with details of this page...... so fingers crossed, I am just about to go for another run, but its freezing! brrrrrrr
Thursday 3rd of May
Training is going really well so far, have managed to run the distance in good time, so feeling confident and looking forward to the big day.....
:0)
Thursday 17th of May
Sorry I haven't posted anything here for awhile!
I've not done as much training as I would have liked as I've been sitting exams since the 10th for my Marketing and Multimedia degree. I went for a run today however and although it was a challenge I'm really looking forward to Saturday.
Sent a couple more emails for sponsorship.....So fingers crossed.....
Not sure how much the other guys have raised yet but will report back when I find out!
Logging off now though to try to do some more revision! Wish me luck! x x x Lorns

So we did it!
It was a little harder than I expected (probably as I've done the bulk of my training in the gym on the treadmill, and have never run a race with sooo many people....)but a great experience! There was a huge crowd of runners and walkers too, and a fantastic atmosphere. It's difficult to know our exact time as there were so many people that it took awhile to be able to start running, but I think it was around 35mins, which I'm pleased with really. I'm going to carry on training and hopefully we will all be running further and further distances from now on, although I think I'll wait a day or two for my legs to recover!
Thank you soooo much for your support, this race meant alot to me!
