Race for Life London - Hampstead 2013 · 6 July 2013 ·
Okay, so, this time last year I was running race for life in memory of my gran, she died 7 years ago. I also ran because without cancer research it's unlikely my auntie would be alive today, she survived breast cancer- Yey big lyd!
However, a year has passed and the sky has gained a brighter star. My good friend, brother, source of laughter, Carlton Raymond York was taken. His death shook me to my core, he had such a big smile, full of life and banter and was only 28. You hear people raising for cancer research or weeping for lost loved ones and more often than not, they are over 40s, 50s and 60s. Carlton's leaving us proves cancer doesn't have any prejudice as to who it attacks; anyone, no matter how big the smile, can be touched and taken from us.
With this in mind, let's all tell cancer to jog the fuck on! Every little helps so no matter the amount I THANK YOU!

Auntie Pat was amazing. She was one of those relatives that you always looked forward to seeing- she never forgot a birthday and would always send a card, even if she couldn't make it around to celebrate in person...
Anyone who knew my aunt would tell you that the most memorable thing about her was her style and love of shoes! Forever keeping up to date with the latest trends, she was at the forefront of fashion and often had my sister and I in awe of her fabulous hairstyles!
Last August, God requested the return of an angel. My aunts departure has left a void in our family that will never be replaced. Auntie Pat we miss you!!
The most frustrating thing about losing someone in this way is that there is no one to blame. In a world where we have so much control over our health in terms of how much we eat, drink and exercise cancer is (for now), beyond our control- it chooses who it likes, when it likes...
But not for long.
No matter how BIG or small your donations, every penny counts! Thank you in advance for your support and I promise to finish!
*Love* Krystle. xxx :)
