Dear All,

Thank you so much for sponsoring me for the Race for Life last week at Epsom.  We did it!  All four of us crossed that finish line and are all keen and ready to do it again next year....in cold weather!

The heat beat down on us for over an hour before the race and together with 4,600 other women we had to partake in a warm up!  What irony! The temperature had soared past 30degrees some hours before and in the middle of an open racetrack, without shade, we needed a cool down not a warm up!

With hats, sunscreen and water, we divided into walkers and runners.  We were off!

The terrain was tough, and passing the messages of love, hope and loss just a little reminder why we were mad enough to expose ourselves to this heat and terrain in the name of charity.

I raced in hope for Aunty Phyllis and Aunty Sybil, in memory of Uncle Paul and in hope for all those waiting for a cure.

Charlotte came in first after 45 minutes, me a minute later and the old girls around the hour mark!  We were all done...the shower, bbq and a big glass of wine was calling us but we'll be back next year to raise even more money for this wonderful cause.
