Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the 4th and 5th of July this year 17 members of the Rochford Garden Machinery team will be aiming to complete the three peaks challenge in 24 hours. The three peaks involves scaling Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Snowden (Wales) covering 44KM (27 miles) with accents of almost 3.5KM (2.2 Miles). The vast majority of the team have never done any hill walking before making the event even more challenging.

The challenge will be completed on the 5th of July which will coincide with the date of Peter Rochford's passing. Dibby Rochford (Peter's Wife) felt this was an appropriate way to celebrate this day as Peter would have been one of the first to put his name down and encourage others around him to complete the event also.

We aim to raise as much money as possible to support Bowel Cancer UK. There are over 40,000 people each year diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in the UK, this equates to one person every 15 minutes. Hopefully they money we raise together can go towards supporting the people and families affected and towards new research to improve treatments.
