After doing a gig in aid of Parkinson's UK with our Department Band (The Histones), I was inspired by the amazing Pat Loft to try to do a bit more for this important cause...

Pat (an ex-technician in the Department of Genetics) is a Parkinson's sufferer, but nevertheless has thrown herself into fundraising with as much gusto as anything she does. When she mentioned the Northampton Abseiling event, I thought "well that has to be it" - So Pat and I will be dangling off the Northampton (ney, NATIONAL) Lift Tower (http://www.nationallifttower.co.uk/) on the 12th September... I've never abseiled, and am not sure I've ever been over 120m up without a plane, so I guess we'll find out if I'm scared of heights!
