Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the Inca Trail Trek Challenge in Peru as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' (RICS) team from 26 March to 4 April 2011 to raise money for various charities. I am raising money for BRAKE, the road-safety charity, as I lost my eldest son George, aged 17, in October 2008, when he was hit by a car crossing a busy road where pedestrian safety left much to be desired.

The Inca Trail Trek will take 4 days to complete and we will be sleeping in the Andes mountains in tents. The trail is only 43 kilometres (27 miles) long, so why will it take 4 days to complete? Answer: because we will climb to 4,200 metres (13,800 feet) and altitude sickness can be a problem.
