RNIB Pears Centre Hydrotherapy Pool Appeal · 9 February 2015

Every day 250 people in the UK start losing their sight. With your help, we can be there when people need us most, support independent living, create an inclusive society and prevent avoidable sight loss. Every pound you raise will help create a future where sight loss is no longer a barrier.

Story

We need your help to build a new hydrotherapy pool for the young people who live and learn with us at RNIB Pears Centre for Specialist Learning.

Back in 2008, we began the redevelopment of what was then RNIB Rushton School and Children’s Home. Today we have 40 young people living and learning with us at RNIB Pears Centre for Specialist Learning – a state of the art school and children’s home offering specialist care and support for young people with sight loss and additional disabilities

At the moment, we frequently travel off-site to enable our young people to have hydrotherapy to assist their well being. However, our young people benefit so much from this provision that we have taken the decision to build a hydrotherapy pool on site.

We are looking to raise £681,000 to build our own hydrotherapy pool on site, instead of having to transport our children off site to an external venue.

The benefits are almost immeasurable and the sooner we can get our own pool the sooner we can make a massive difference to the social and physical well-being of our young people.

Please help us to make this a reality by donating towards this vitally important appeal for the young people who live and learn with us at RNIB Pears Centre for Specialist Learning.
