For those who know me well, a marathon wouldn't be a marathon without a ridiculous costume, that weighs more than planned and is slightly larger than the original sketch. But, I do it to make it a bigger challenge. A lot of people out there face a bigger challenge every day they wake up, not just on one day of the year. So the bigger the challenge, the more people sponsor me. ]
Mum, Dad and I team to develop the costume and then I do the running, because I am not sure Mum and Dad would make it around 26.2 miles, and I cannot carry them....although, that is maybe one for next year
This year family Tarver are taking the strain, and sewing, for three great causes. Dreams Come True, which brings a little bit of happiness to terminally ill children. A cause which is very close to our hearts. Secondly, CALM, the Campaign Against Living Miserably, a charity helping those that need help, based on mental health issues in the UK, especially in males, who account for around 80% of all suicides in the UK each year. Finally, I am running for Cancer Research UK, in the memory of Ann Reid, why, because Pat asked me to run with him (he will running as a spaceman). Pat, James and Sinead lost their mum, and Michael his wife, last year to cancer, so this is one for you family Reid
So....here we go....come on London
