Story
I have chosen to fundraise for The Children's Trust because the care that it provides to sick and disabled to children is both heart-warming and inspirational.
More close to home, the teachers, nurses and other carers in The School for Profound Education and Willow House (both part of the Children's Trust took such good care of my brother Sam (seen in the picture) before he died aged 18.
Sam was a day-learner at The School for Profound Education during his teens. The School "is a purpose built, residential non-maintained school for children and young people aged 3-25 with profound and multiple difficulties and complex medicle needs".
The School is one of the only places in Britain where children with profound and multiple learning difficulties can be provided with education, therapy and world class care. This is why their The Profound Education Curriculum is used in Special Education throughout the world.
Back to what I'm doing and why - those of you who know me will know I pant for 5 minutes whenever I run to catch a train, so cycling 100 miles will naturally be a challenge. I would not be doing this, if I did not believe in the cause; it's not just about thanking those who cared for Sam, it's about ensuring future children have access to this world-class care and support.
I need to raise £750 for The Children's Trust, so any donation from £5 to £50 will be hugely helpful. Read Why We Need You for more info on where your generous donations will go http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/page.asp?section=267§ionTitle=Facts+%26+figures
So thank you in advance for your support. If I get half as much support as my family and I got when Sam died back in 2011, I know that the £750 target is easily reachable.
So please, spare a little change, share this page with your friends and co-workers, and say a prayer for all the children at The Children's Trust.
