The Challenge: cycle 40 miles in London on December 25th:
The ride will start from Whitechapel and taking in the sights and sounds of London. We will pass across the 12 bridges of London, visiting the Tower of London, Embankment, London Eye, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace. The ride is 40 miles and will finish in the East End.
The Cause: 'School under the Sky' - Street Children Project, Bangladesh.
We (with you) are raising money for a 'School under the Sky'. This project provides an emergency shelter, education, three meals a day and healthcare to children rescued from the streets in Dhaka.
In Dhaka there are an estimated 500,000 street children. These children have been kidnapped, trafficked or abandoned by their parents. They are left to fend for themselves. Girls are trafficked into the sex trade sometimes their faces are branded or scarred as a sign of ownership. 80% of Dhaka’s street children are boys and 50% are under the age of 10. The children suffer from deep trauma and drug addiction. The drug of choice is either dandy - a mix of shoe polish and glue or a cocktail of sleeping pills and pain killers.
In 2015 Muslim Charity rescued 550 children; 135 were reunited with their families and 415 were placed in a permanent home.
We want to help this project reach out to more children.

Rider's Story - Ruzina:
Ruzina started 2016 with the intention to tick at least one item of her (never-ending) to-do list. That 'item' became 'learning to ride a bicycle'*. She started the year on a (relatively) good footing (yes there were bruises). But as life got in the way the cycling lessons became neglected. However, determined not to give up, she decided to end 2016 making sure she definitely meets her goal, with a challenge - cycling 40 miles in London! Crazy/brave/stupid.. who knows.. stay tuned to find out on December 25th! Please support this crazy/brave/stupid** girl by donating generously and keeping her in your prayers*** :)
*yes there were other items but for the purpose of this story that's the only one that matters.
**delete as appropriate.
***she's going to need it!
Rider's Story - Tahera:
On Christmas Day, I would rather be at home with my family getting in everyone's way and willing for the food to get cooked quicker. Instead, I will be cycling 40 miles in the cold probably befriending potholes along the way.
Raising money for this project is a nice way to end the year and a good opportunity to find out about good work being done on the ground. Obviously, this challenge is an elaborate scheme to avoid the washing up that day, but it also means the project gets a much needed financial boost.
