My name is Emily Fish, and in April 2009 I was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow failure condition called Aplastic Anaemia. My condition effects one child in a million, and after my inital treatments failed, I needed to have a Bone Marrow Transplant.

I was really lucky, and one perfect 10/10 match was found on the Anthony Nolan Register after a worldwide search. In December 2009 I had my transplant, I am still in recovery, but I feel loads better and am looking forward to the day I can go back to school and be with my friends.

The Anthony Nolan Register does an amazing job connecting hundreds of people like me, with life threatening conditions who desperately need transplants with suitable bone marrow donors. In the UK alone there are 1,400 people, with potentially fatal illnesses, waiting to find a match. Any one person has a 1 in 20,000 chance of matching a stranger. Donating isn't painful, so if you are reading this, please, please consider donating more than your money.  

Some very nice people from my Daddy's work decided they would try and raise some money to help. Daddy and some of his friends are all going to climb the three biggest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales all in the same day!!! It's going to be really tough, but I've told them to try and be brave and I want to be there to cheer them on at the end.
