We support Birmingham Children's Hospital to improve the lives of sick children

Story

I am doing a 160ft bungee jump from a crane in London on the 27 September for the Birmingham children's hospital charities. This is to raise money for all the sick children being treated there but especially for the beautiful Arun Dolby who is the son of good friends of mine and my husband Paul. Arun has a cleft lip and palette. He also has an intermittent heart block which means his heart rate decreases to a really low rate. He will require a pacemaker to ensure his heart rate stays at a normal rate for his whole life. Arun also has dextrocardia which means that his heart is on the wrong side of his body. This has also caused him to have multiple spleens which means the doctors don't know whether he will have any immunity or not. This has also caused him to have two left lungs. Arun also has two very small chambers in his heart. These supply oxygen to the body. Although he is doing very well at the moment there will come a point when his heart will not be able to supply oxygen to his body. Therefore he needs a couple of operations in order for his heart to be rewired to only work on one side . In essence he will only have half a heart working and the doctors will aim to ensure  all the blood and oxygen is pumped around one half of his heart. Arun is an amazing little fighter and his parents are so strong and positive. Please help me to help them and all of the other families going through the distress of having a very sick child. Thank you xx
