Story
WHAT, I HEAR YOU SAY??
After a failed first attempt in September a second attempt in December, and a third attempt in April(!) - all down to the lovely Scottish weather - I have not given up! Instead it's fourth time lucky and on the 7th July, I am going to be hurling myself, an unfortunate instructor and ideally a working parachute out of a plane, falling about 10,000 feet then gracefully coming to a stop on the ground (the graceful bit is doubtful but we can always hope!).
WHY??
SICK KIDS FRIENDS FOUNDATION
This is an amazing charity that works with The Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh to help both sick children and their families get through some of the hardest times they might ever face.
HOW DO I KNOW?
My mum being a doctor at sick kids has meant in the past I had some rather "alternative" childcare - which involved a lot of time spent in Sick Kids! This means I've seen first hand the effect of the foundation's work - from PJs Loft where parents can shower and rest if they're staying at their child's bedside to providing new "sat nav" equipment for neurosurgery, to current projects to provide play areas and KIDSnet throughout the hospital
But don't just take my word for it, go on look them up, you know you want to... http://www.edinburghsickkids.org/about-the-foundation.html
Anyway thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I would really appreciate your support and however you look at it this is a good thing. If you like me it's a chance to support me doing this challenge which might be "a wee bitty scary" but is for an amazing cause, or if you don't, you can take relief in the fact that I'm jumping out of a plane - so either way please be as generous as you can!
