Aged just 8, Abby was diagnosed with a rare & aggressive bone cancer.  Abby battled against the illness with remarkable courage, incredible good humour & dignity; all of us who had the privilege to love her, were awe inspired, & know that her courage was truly extraordinary.  Abby lost her heroic battle in May 2016,  & her family set up Abby's Heroes to provide financial and practical support, & reduce the pressure this illness puts on precious family life:-

Abby's Heroes help children & their families through the Piam Brown  oncology ward at Southampton General Hospital.  Covering a wide geographical catchment area, and working with the CLIC Sargent Social Workers, at the very toughest of times, Abby's Heroes swiftly assess & make grant payments to families needing help, so they can keep on, keeping up their fight.   Abby's Heroes also helps to create happy memories & experiences for families to cherish, whilst dealing with the trauma of having a child undergoing treatment for cancer.
