Rachel & John's Snowdon climb in memory of Olivia

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Inspired by Olivia
For our 60 + 65 birthdays we have decided that we would like to raise some much needed funds for Bedford And District Cerebral Palsy Society.
BDCPS is a charity which is very close to our hearts.
I have had the privilege and pleasure of being part of the charity for over 12 years and it has given me much joy.
Last year sadly little Olivia passed away suddenly leaving a huge gap in the lives of everyone who loved her.
This climb is dedicated to the memory of Olivia.
.Sending you all lots of love from Rachel
Rachel asked me (Amy, Olivia's mum) to write a little bit about Olivia here, but I would struggle to separate the two. Rachel became such a massive part of Olivia's (and our) lives. Through BDCPS her time was given to us, to help support us as a family. Most weekday evenings Rachel could be heard reading to our beloved little princess, or giving her a lovely foot massage. They both loved nowhere more than down the bottom of our garden, under our tree. Sat on our bench listening to the birds singing to them and the breeze on her face. It was for Olivia, her favourite place in the world and Rachel was right up there as one of her favourite people. Her face would light up, when she heard her voice.
When Olivia died last year, it was like we had stepped on to a travelator and couldn't get off. She suffered sudden respiratory arrest whilst in Bedford Hospital after suffering with tummy problems. Her kidneys too were failing (but this wasn't confirmed at the time). The staff there on Riverbank were truly amazing that night and managed to stabilise Olivia enough to be taken to the adult ICU unit. From there she was transferred by CATS team to Addenbrookes PICU fully ventilated. A few of the lovely ladies there were knew too! She remained on a ventilator until the following week. We were told then to gather our nearest and dearest before Olivia was extubated, as even if Olivia was to survive the extubation (the ventilation tube being removed), she sadly would not be with us for long. We didn't know how long that 'long' was, but we knew that Rachel, of course, was one of those nearest and dearest to Olivia and us. She bought with her a gift of Princess Twinkle Sparkle (a my little pony unicorn). And that is what Rachel bought to our lives, a bit of twinkle and a bit of sparkle. We love her so much for it.
Olivia passed away on the 3rd of October 2016, so this is a wonderful way to mark the anniversary, reaching somewhere of outstanding beauty, raising what will hopefully be an amazing amount of money (please).
Rachel continues as a volunteer with BDCPS still. She is a gem, a true star (and will blush at me writing such a thing), but as she turns 60, instead of taking it easy, she continues to do all she can for children like Olivia and friends, including climbing Snowdon and roping her poor, lovely, loving husband John in to it too! Who is doing this I would say to celebrate his 65th birthday, but he is doing this because he knows how much BDCPS and Olivia mean to Rachel and he is a wonderful husband and gentleman!
Thank you Rachel and John and thank YOU for your much appreciated and needed donation in memory of my beautiful girl.
All our love
