So this weekend I celebrate my lockdown 30th Birthday 🥳🥂💐 I had plans for two weeks of celebrations (why not, eh?) but obviously Covid's plan blew all of mine out of the water (quite spectacularly too if I may add) 🙄
Yes, undeniably part of me is sad that I can't celebrate properly with family and friends but the other part of me is so thankful that I am here to celebrate 3 decades of craziness, thankful that I have amazing family and friends and thankful that my loved ones and I, are safe and well.
Alot of you know I have worked for the Belfast Trust for the past 6+ years. Working as a nurse within the Trust day in, night out, I have met some of the most amazing, talented, selfless and caring health professionals. A few (+) years ago, it was this very Trust, which employs those amazingly talented, caring and selfess health professionals, worked miracles, who helped save my life and quite literally put me back together again.
I have no doubt it is because of the exceptional care that I received through the Trust, that I am where I am today and I will be forever indebted to those heroes who put me back together and carried me through.
It is some of those very heroes who are now fighting an uphill battle against covid-19. They turn up to every shift, facing an uncertain 12+ hours which is both physically and emotionally draining, but yet they do it with smiles behind the masks and they come back and do it all over again for their next shift, and they do it for people like you and me.
I would love to raise a little bit of money for the Trust, as a thank-you and as a celebration of how amazing their workforce is. I can't do any fancy 5k runs, I just want to take a chance to support our NHS in Northern Ireland. So if you'd like to celebrate with me (or buy me a virtual jawbox and sprite zero) please donate, it doesn't matter how big or small the amount 💙 Rest assured I'll be raising a wee glass of bubbles or two, to you all over the weekend 🥂
