Hi, thank you for looking at my Just Giving page. In August 2011, I and a group of 19 Young Adults will be attending World Youth Day in Madrid. This will be an amazing experience where millions of young catholics from around the world will gather together to share their faith journey's with each other and expereince the highlight of the event which is an overnight outdoor service with Pope Benedict XVI. I myself have never been before but have been told how amazing the experience is and i am extremely looking forward to it.

In order to raise money for the trip, the group of us are taking part in 'The Monopoly Challenge'. The challenge is that the group must visit every place on the traditional Monopoly game board in one day, using only public transport. This results in covering 16 miles in total and making sure that the whole of the group stays together whilst partaking in forfeits and providing photographic edivdence. I will also be doing this is fancy dress as something Monopoly Board related.

The money that each pilgrim raises will be put together and 10% of our earnings will be given 'Help a Child'.

Help a Child is a local charity run by volunteers from Wycombe Catholic Churches. From a visit to West Africa in late 2006, the organisers were struck by the needs of the children, in Grandcess, Liberia, many having to work each day to help the family survive. ‘Help a Child’ aims to provide education for the needy children in Africa – including providing teachers, uniforms, books and equipment. Education was seen as something that could make a difference for a better future for all.
