Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·

It is estimated that as many as 15million children die or remain severely ill every year through potentially treatable or preventable cardiac diseases. Chain of Hope exists to provide children from developing countries affected by life-threatening heart disease with the treatment to save their lives

Story

Thank you for coming onto my page - I need all the support I can get! I have decided to run the London Marathon 2016, a gruelling 26.2 mile run to raise vital funds for Chain of Hope.

Chain of Hope is an amazing charity that provides children in developing and war-torn countries with access to high-quality life-saving treatment for heart disease. 1 in every 100 babies is born with a heart defect, and in so many countries these little ones just can't access the operations that would save their lives.

I have been working at Chain of Hope for three and a half years and in that time I have met so many children and parents whose lives have been changed by the charity. From Syrian refugees fleeing ISIS, to families living in extreme poverty in sub-Saharan Africa, to a mother too scared to take her young daughter to the park amidst the turbulent gang violence of El Salvador, their stories have stayed with me and convinced me that however painful this experience might be, I have all the motivation I need and I know that your donations will be going towards the most worthwhile cause.

Whatever you can give will be very gratefully received!
