Thames Path Challenge 100K · 14 September 2013 to 15 September 2013 ·

We care for children & young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambs, Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk and support their families. This can be at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton, The Treehouse and The Nook. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income.

Story

WE DID IT!!

100km in 23 1/2 hours. We are exhausted, still. We managed the first 50km without blisters, but oooh did they come in the second half. Yuck. Then 'I hit the wall' at 75 and, seriously, without the amazing support from Penny and fantastic help of the British Red Cross, I wouldn't have walked another step. But hey, there was a definite spring in that step as we set out for the final 25. More like a plod as we arrived in Henley as the sun finally broke through the fog we'd had to negotiate all through the night. We are lucky we didn't fall into the river.
