We're a Christian aid and development agency, following Jesus to the places of greatest need to respond to disasters and help communities unlock their own potential to overcome poverty. We won't stop until poverty stops.

SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS OF CHALLENGE 1) Living below the line...

- In September 2014 I will be heading off with Tearfund (http://www.tearfund.org/) to South Africa for 3 months, working with a local social enterprise (a la Zoe life- http://zoe-life.co.za/) to help make small yet sustainable changes as part of a team with local volunteers.

- The programme is overseen by the ICS government-lead scheme, which seeks to connect and educate young people with development work, in the process highlighting issues of social justice (http://www.volunteerics.org/).

- Any donation to this cause is warmly appreciated. I have been set a target fundraising amount of £1500. I am going to tackle this with a series of mini-challenges....

1) COMPLETED- Living below the Line - 22-27th June 2014 marks the week when my infamous tyre of a roll will be shown how rough it is to live on less than a £1's worth of food per day. For this plumpy plucky dwarf, the prospect of a chocolate and indulgent-food-free week could be rather difficult indeed... see https://www.livebelowtheline.com/uk/challenge for further info. The rules are strict.

2) STARTED- Charity cake sale challenge- to raise minimum of £50 every Friday of August by organising cake sales in the office!

Kindest regards,

Rachel Wiltshire
