Story
Rachel O'Brien and Alice Dent are embarking on a trip to Belarus to work in Zhordina Orphanage for ten days, along with teachers and pupils from The Cathedral School, Llandaff.
Leaves of Hope is a Cardiff based charity that works with orphans in Belarus, trying to make their future bright. It offers young people in Britain the unique experience of working in an orphanage and playing with the children, an opportunity that will be remembered forever not just by those taking part, but by the orphans living in Zhordina.
We first heard about the charity around 7 years ago, when the charity's Director, Val Cousins starting taking groups from Corpus Christi High School to Belarus. In the Summer of 2011, Rachel got the opportunity to go to Belarus along with her peers and teachers, running a play scheme for the children, and has been dedicated to the charity ever since. She has since returned, in October 2012 for a refurbishment and has decided to partake in the trip once more this coming June, with inspired Alice.
Our main aim is to raise awareness for Leaves of Hope as a charity, but of course we hope to raise enough money to get us out there in June. We ask that you could give as much or as little as you can afford to this very worthy cause. Thank you.
