Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity believes no child should face hospital alone. Every day, 500 seriously ill children face a life-changing hospital visit. Children tell us it can be frightening. Parents say they're sick with worry. We want to change this. With your support, we can. Are you in?

Story

I am in all honesty am completely new to this kind of experience but for reasons that I cannot deny are slightly selfish I want to try and find a better, more constructive use for my hobby and obsession. Video games are important to be and they have gotten me though so many highs and lows in my life, I have taken from them more than I have ever really deserved.

I am in no denial about how good I have had it in life compared to other people, I've learnt that I should never take anything for granted because I know there are others out there who deserve it a lot more than I do. I have been lucky that I can just close myself off from the world when I feel like it, I am lucky that I have never been forced into a position where I have had to sit and watch helplessly as things happen that are beyond my control.

I am raising money for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh because I feel like staying up for 24 hours would be the very least I could do in beginning to give back to a world that has for the most part done me more favors than I deserve.

I have been to fundraising events in the past, the likes of Pro Wrestling shows where the money made on ticket sales would go directly toward helping a sick child in getting the over seas medical treatment that would be needed to save their life. Seeing such things left an impression on me and I realised that sometimes things were how they were for a reason and it is wrong for me to expect life to play to my own personal expectations.

In summery I am here because I know there are small things I can do in my life that will help the lives of others if I apply myself to them.
