Oxfordshire Youth is helping children and young people to be the best they can be.Through raising aspirations, providing positive role models and providing development opportunities, we are working with our partners and supporters to inspire and support children and young people to be at the forefront of change. We are delighted that a team of boys from Radley College are running the Blenheim 7k to further strengthen our friendship, and in turn, hopefully raise some money too. The money raised will go towards the Positive Activities for Young People programme - At Oxfordshire Youth, we are proud to support 18-24 year olds who are living in supported accommodation. Your funding will go towards a range of activities for young people to support their mental health, boost their self-confidence and inspire them to build social skills with their peers. The young people we support in this service have often come from very challenging backgrounds, some may have been taken into care, others may have arrived in the U.K as unaccompanied asylum seekers. For others, challenges at home due to family breakdown have meant they have needed to leave and need much more support. From cinema trips, swimming sessions, theatre and museums, and going out to share food, these young people will benefit from getting out of their comfort zones, exploring new opportunities and ultimately helping them to feel valued and inspired.

A couple of the team were happy to share their reasons for signing up to the fun run:

Hector said 'I am taking part in this fun run as it is a great opportunity to meet new people and raise awareness for Oxfordshire Youth. I also hope that I can encourage some friends and family to donate, and help raise funds to broaden this amazing set-up.'

Ben said, 'I am taking part in this fun run because I think it would be a great way to build connections with the local Oxford youth and to build a relationship with them. I think it is great to build friendships with people from different backgrounds and to raise some money at the same time. '
