Bnei Mitzvah Charity Challenge · 1 July 2022

ADDISS provides information and support to families, adults and children who struggle daily to cope with the burden of having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. We are trying to raise money to build a national network of support for families all over the country. We currently run a telephone helpline. We offer training to schools and families.

Story

Hi,

My name is Rafi Gershon and I will be climbing Mount Helvellyn in the Lake District in July with my Dad to raise money for a charity called ADDISS for my Bar Mitzvah project.

ADDISS are a charity that helps children with ADHD. When I was in primary school, I wasn’t one of the most well behaved children, I shouted at teachers and didn’t want to learn.

Through ADDISS, they helped me to learn about ADHD, how to talk to teachers and to explain to them about my needs and how they could help me. They helped my Mum and Dad to learn about how to help me too.

At secondary school, I don’t get in (too much!) trouble anymore and I am much happier and able to learn.

I would like the money I raise to go to ADDISS so that other children can get the same help that I received.

I can’t thank them enough.

Thank you for your support
