The Isle of Thanet Gazette has decided to raise money for Rainbow ward at Queen Mary Queen Mother (QEQM) Hospital to help parents lives in the hospital easier.

We hope to raise enough money to increase the  number of chair beds on the children's ward allowing one of the parents to stay overnight with their child when they need the love and comfort of their mum or dad most.

We are asking our readers to donate what they can so we can get as many chair beds as possible.

Each chair costs a £1000

We will not solely be relying on our readers to donate and the Thanet Gazette team will take part in fundraising events during the year.

Any funds raised over the target will go to other projects at the Rainbow ward
