Story
James and I are both running the Robin Hood Marathon (Nottingham) this year to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
According to their research, 800,000 people in the UK live with dementia. This is set to rise to 1 million within the next 10 years. One in three people over the age of 65 develop dementia.
Alzheimer's Society is a great charity that supports many people living with dementia. Alzheimer's Society have services in place that can support these people, their families and carers. Alzheimer's Society also funds research that aims to create a world without dementia in the future.
We believe that people can live well with dementia. Alzheimer's Society initiatives such as "Dementia Friends" are social action movements that aim to challenge the stigma associated with dementia and make communities more dementia friendly.
