Ramadan Projects · 31 July 2016

Human Appeal provides relief to victims of natural disasters, wars and social hardship. It improves the quality of life of underprivileged communities through our projects that aim to provide education, health and social development. It looks after the wellbeing of orphans.

Story

At the FCA Pre-Ramadan event you donated a whopping £15,000. Let's keep the momentum up during this blessed month.

In the comments section of your donation please specify which appeal you would like your donation to go towards and what your intention is (Sadaqah or Zakat)

Feed a fasting family (Zakat applicable)

The family is the core unit of any community around the world and one that
provides stability to each of its members. Human Appeal strongly believes that
the family unit is often one that is worst affected in poverty and after
disasters with hunger being the main difficulty. That is why it is Human
Appeal’s target every Ramadan to provide food parcels to fasting families
around the world who are suffering great hardships.

Costing only £65 the family food parcel consists of food that helps a needy family eat well for Suhoor and Iftar during the month of Ramadan.

Iftar in Al-Aqsa Mosque (Sadaqah only)

Since 2004 Human Appeal International
has been implementing its ‘Feed the Fasting’ project in Al-Aqsa mosque during
the holy month of Ramadan.

This Ramadan Human Appeal International will be
providing 1000s Iftar meals throughtout the month (including Alyalt AlQadr) to
the worshipers who go to Al-Aqsa mosque.

The cost of providing 1 Iftar meal is £5 and the
blessings are many.

The reward for providing a fasting person with
Iftar are immense. This is an opportunity for all Muslim brothers and sisters
to gain the same reward as that of the person they provide Iftar to.

Planting Olive Trees in Palestine (Zakat applicable)

For thousands of years Olive trees have been an important part of life in the Palestinian countryside with many Palestinian farmers depending on them for their livelihood.  Olive oil contributes to more than $100 million of annual income, in some of the poorest areas of the region. Olive trees also play a big role in defending lands from being confiscated by the occupation forces or settlers.

More than 1.5 million of Olive trees
have been uprooted in the past few years in Jerusalem and the West Bank leaving
thousands of Palestinian farmers and their families without any kind of income.
Olive trees are also being uprooted to create more available land to build new
settlements or to expand existing ones.

Human Appeal has extended last year’s
project where 10,000 olive trees were planted in the holy land of Jerusalem

How will we address the problem?

Every year HA UK implements
the Olive Tree Project through its local partners by planting 9000 to 10000
olives cuttings/saplings in Jerusalem distributed to farmers. Each farmer take
15 - 20 olive trees. Hence the objective of the project is:

  • Planting and replanting of olive trees and other trees destroyed
    in the Palestinian territories.
  • Provide support for families and Palestinian farmers, through the
provision of job opportunities and finding new sources of income for them.
  • Protect and preserve the environment

For £20 you can plant two olive trees as an ongoing charity (Sadaqah
Jariyyah)

Orphan Sponsorship (Zakat applicable)

Our orphans are the innocent victims of war, natural disaster and political upheaval, so it’s vital we continue supporting them. With 200 million orphans, globally, we have many more lives to save.

If every one of us were to sponsor just one orphan, the positive impact we could have on children in the world without one or both parents would be amazing. It’s shocking what orphans in places like Syria, Palestine and Burma must endure on a daily basis, including having no access to food, clean water, medicine or education. Let’s light up the lives of as many suffering young children as we can, giving them food, clothing, medical aid and access to the all-important thing that will give them a brighter future – education.

The cost of sponsoring an orphan is £25 per month or £300 for a full year (only 83p per day)
