1000km Pedaling for Riders of Tomorrow

Thank you for reading my justgiving fundraising.
My name is Ran. I am a medical student in Japan, and I'm a big fan of road biking.
I love my bicycle because it's changed my life. When I was little, my mom and dad divorced. My mom had 3 children to take care of. One day, I got a tiny bicycle from my sister. It totally changed my life. I could go anywhere and anytime by myself. My family didn't own a car, but with my bicycle, I could go to library to study and I could go to school in the different city. If I didn’t have a bike, I couldn't go to medical school. I couldn’t dream about becoming a doctor.
Bicycles provide swift transport, access to education, health and income. Easy transportation is especially important for young women and children, like me.
This winter, I am taking on a big bicycling challenge: bike from Melbourne to Sydney, Australia. It's about 1000km(600miles) and I will try to get there in 5 days!(from 27th Dec to 31st Dec)
I would like to use my personal challenge to help support this nonprofit organization "Re~Cycle" http://www.re-cycle.org that sends bikes to change the lives In Africa, people spend many hours each day walking to collect water, firewood or to access health care, school and employment. A bicycle saves valuable time and lightens loads. And a bicycle dramatically improves access to work and education opportunities, helping to bring about social change.
Bikes are the cleanest, healthiest, most affordable, and most efficient form of transport. They increase access to opportunities, whether they are economic, educational, social or personal. They connect workers with employment, students to schools, producers to users of goods and services, patients to healthcare, and everyone to family and friends.
Please donate to help support this organization and the great work they do for people in Africa. I am inspired by their example to make a difference in other peoples' lives. My goal is to raise enough money to send a shipment of bikes from Japan to help people in Africa. I hope my bike ride in Australia will be inspirational to others.
Thank you for your support of this important mission!
