Story
I wish there was a great big tear jerking story to tell... but really, there isn't. 2018 was a difficult year for me for many reasons and so when I saw an advert in the NCT newsletter back in October 2018 about running the London Marathon, I thought why not? I didn't have any plans for 28 April 2019 so figured it would be good to get out and about on this day. And anyway, I didn't think I would get offered a place to run the marathon so I was mighty surprised when I received the email to say: 'Congratulations! You've snapped up a place in the world's finest marathon.'
On a more serious note, the NCT is a great charity that has helped me and countless other mums and dads around the UK with the all important and life changing first 1000 days of becoming a parent. The lovely people I have met because of the NCT, the local events I have been fortunate enough to take part in and volunteer at and most importantly the knowledge that you really aren't alone after becoming a parent are all priceless (especially if like me you live somewhere with no family nearby). And I am proud to be able to give back once again and raise money for the fantastic Haringey NCT Branch.
So... what I need from you please is your help in raising valuable funds for the NCT - click to donate, it's as simple as that!
Sunday 28th April 2019 is going to be a BIG day for me, one that I am likely to remember and certainly feel for many years to come and I would love nothing more than for you to join me so if you fancy a day out in London, you know where to find me. Please bring banners, drums and anything (or anyone!) that makes loud noise to encourage me to keep going.
Thanks again for taking the time to visit my page. I hope to share some good news with you all AFTER 28th April should I make it out in one piece.
