Story
One in four people will suffer with mental health issues but the EndStigma campaign wants to stop people being made to feel that their issues are a quiet, shameful subject.
Exercise has also been proven to help people get through the fog of mental health issues. Although they are married, Ranald and Alison are very different types of people, but getting out and exercising will generally lift both of their moods. With this in mind, we have taken up the gauntlet to do a different challenge for the next few months to raise money for Birchwood Highland.
March - RUN 30k
April - SWIM 30k
May - CYCLE 30k
June - WALK 30k
We know that 30k isn't far and each distance can be spread over the month, but for people struggling to exercise regularly this will be a big challenge that we hope will make us feel better both physically and mentally.
Ranald finds that lworking long hours takes its toll on his commitment to exercise but likes having a routine, whereas Alison acknowledges that having these goals will help her to get out and active when indecision sometimes leaves her unable to get motivated at all.
Anything you can donate will help Birchwood Highland in providing support for people experiencing mental ill health. Their aim is to improve their quality of life by promoting recovery, inclusion and independence.
