Hampstead Heath Walk 2017 · 11 June 2017 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you may know I was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer 9 months ago.
A month later under chemotherapy it spread and the prospects of recovery were poor.
A second line of therapy was then used and I am glad to say the results are positive today. I am still under treatment.
I had heard about the Maggie centres because of the star architects who had designed them including Rogers (Charing cross hospital) Zaha, Gehry, Foster etc.
I have started to visit some of them recently and have found them very supportive. It is a place that does exercise classes (yoga, taichi, pilates) and offers different kind of support tailored to all cancer patients.
This confirms more than ever how important architecture is in stimulating, motivating and helping recovery.
This walk (in the lovely Hampstead Heath park) is intended to raise money for this important charity.
