Story
My name is Raquel Berry. I am 9 years old and from Leicester.
I am raising money for a Leicester
charity called Wishes 4 Kids (http://www.wishes4kids.co.uk) by swimming
100 lengths.
I swam 100 pool lengths non-stop equivalent to 2000 meters or 2 km on
Friday 17th April 2015 in the University of Leicester pool (20 metres) at the
Danielle Brown Sports Centre. It took me around 40 minutes and swam in
the presence of Mr Mark Simmons, who is supporter member of the charity and also
employee at the Sports Centre.
I did this in memory of my friend Leah who passed away just over 3 weeks. She
was 6 years old. She had been battling a rare form of cancer since the age of
2. Leah is Maltese and had been sponsored from Malta to go to visit
Disneyland in November last year. This memory will be treasured forever by her
grieving family.
I have decided to raise money for Wishes 4 Kids in her memory.
It is a Leicester charity that grant wishes of terminally ill children. It is a
wonderful cause to raise money and I want to replicate similar wishes to the
other local Leicester based terminally ill children.
Please support my cause.
Thank you very much. Raquel.
