I’m really excited to tell you that I have been selected to volunteer in Nepal with Restless Development on an International Citizen Service placement. ICS works with communities that have specifically requested their help. It also aims to inspire young people in the UK and overseas to become active citizens who are passionate about long term community development.

I cannot wait to go to Nepal and look at issues such as gender equality and employability skills mainly and focus on what to present in the workshops for the community in Sindhuli. Also experience their lifestyle where there is major farming culture and less to live by everyday. Really excited to meet the community and hopefully carry on the projects our former volunteers have carried for few years. Super excited 😆         

The first part of my placement is a challenge to raise £800 towards the work of Restless Development and their ICS partners. The money raised will go towards enabling the overall costs of ICS, ensuring they can to continue sending youth volunteers to the developing world to make a lasting difference in disadvantaged communities.

                    

Amongst other things, I’ll be tackling issues such as gender, Livelihood, Education and life skills to many children and also taking humanitarian action.Further details will be added.
