Story
I started my own running journey in May this year and by no means am I a natural runner! I can't run very fast or any great distance, I struggle to get up and out for my early morning runs but the chance of witnessing a sunrise spurs me on.
I had been looking for my #ReasonToRun for a while and when I heard about Isabella's story through my friend Tony, I realised that this was it.
Isabella Lyttle is a beautiful 10 year old girl who is being treated for Neuroblastoma and may need to travel to America in order to undertake new clinical trials and give her the chance to beat this illness. Isabella was first diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, a very rare and aggressive childhood cancer, in 2010 at the age of 3. Unfortunately, after 18 months in remission, Isabella relapsed in April 2015, again in October 2015, and has once again relapsed in 2017. Isabella will hopefully soon be taking part in a clinical trial in Southampton, however options are limited in the UK if this trial doesn't work. There are clinical trials taking place in America for relapsed Neuroblastoma which would give Isabella the best chance possible. This is obviously very expensive so fundraising has begun to ensure Isabella has the money needed should she have to look outside of the UK for treatment.
Hopefully I could use my running journey to help contribute towards some of her treatment for Neuroblastoma in some small way. She is a beautiful little girl with such a bright future ahead of her, lets help her turn that dream into a reality.
The 12 weeks start on the 1st September so I'll keep you posted on my progress after each run!
I along with my amazing friends at Acivico - Lucy Cross, Yvette Stone and Manjit Sabbharwal are turning the next 12 weeks into our #AciviFit Challenge! Whilst I chose to run and raise donations, they are swimming the length of the English Channel to raise funds for their chosen charity Aspire. So proud to be part of a team that is centred towards "giving back!" #AciviCommunity
