Night Walks for Autism 2018 · 17 March 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of you will know that I am a Childcare Solicitor. I represent children and parents in Legal proceedings. In the last 12 months I have represented children and parents of children who have autism. Their stories are heartbreaking as there simply aren’t enough resources out there. The lack of education around autism in general is also shocking. What I see to be happening is families are left to deal with their autistic children and when they hit adoloscent years and they can no longer cope - authorities will step in and this often means children being removed from their families for their safety and needs at that time. The government are not doing enough for these children and the NAS helps to advocate rights for these individuals whilst running courses and workshops for parents (which I have recommended to quite a few of my clients).
I also have some close friends who’s children have been diagnosed with autism recently. These children are amazing and are coming on leaps and bounds. They are lucky that their parents are totally on it - I want to walk for those who don’t have the same privilege.
All donations - however little, will make a difference. You all know how much I hate the cold, so to be traipsing around London in the cold- is a big thing!
Love,
Ravi
