Wedding Anniversary SkyDive · 6 July 2016

We’re here for the cure. Cure Parkinson’s is working with urgency to find new treatments to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.

Story

My Sky Dive, will be on 6th July, near Honiton in Devon.   We drop from 15,000 feet.  I am doing it on behalf of all sufferers of Parkinsons, hoping that the funds raised will help to find a cure.

I was diagnosed as having Parkinsons just over a year ago.  Since then my medication has been very effective.  But I am well aware that the disease is progressive.  As with others, it will probably become much worse in time. New treatments are needed.

Cure Parkinsons was formed in 2005 when four individuals, suffering from Parkinsons, created this new charity with one bold aim - to find new treatments that will slow, stop and hopefully reverse the Parkinsons disease.  They are dedicated to this goal and the work that is being done is inspiring.

In the UK alone, 127,000 people suffer from Parkinsons.  The existing treatment is still based on the same drugs that have been used for the last 45 years.  They are generally short term in effect and do not prevent the progressive decline that is common in Parkinsons sufferers.  The initiative by Cure Parkinsons is therefore greatly needed.  So any help that you can possibly give will be very much appreciated.

Thank you so much.

Ricky
