Story

On the morning of Wednesday 15th March, Ray sadly died after suffering a stroke. The family; Libby, Steve, Lou, Russ, Vicky, Dan and Olly have been very grateful and touched by all your kindness since Ray died.

The funeral will be on 12th April at 12:40 at Barham Crematorium followed by a celebration of life at Walmer & Kingsdown Golf Club. All are welcome at both/either.

Alongside his many sporting exploits, Ray was a dedicated Civil Servant. During his career he worked at the Cabinet Office, No10 and the Treasury. He was also a lecturer at the Civil Service College, during which time he did a lot of work overseas advising on setting up good public sector structures including visiting and supporting work in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Slovakia, Bangladesh and Anguilla amongst other places. He finished his career as Staff Advisor for the House of Lords.

We are asking for family flowers only, but if you wish to make a donation in his memory to the Charity for Civil Servants we would be very grateful. The Charity for Civil Servants provide practical, emotional and financial support to current and former Civil Servants who have fallen on hard times.
