Story
Mission accomplished!!!!
Michael and I finished in 4 hours 38 minutes.
Just our luck, the weathermen got it completely wrong. We were expecting overcast and 13 - 15 degrees. What did we get? Wall to wall sunshine and 18 - 20 degrees. Not the best day for running!!
Just so happy to complete it. Not a bad result for an 'old' man with a dicky ticker. The heart was great, pity about the head and the legs. Huge thanks to MIchael for getting me round. (I think I helped him too.)
Thanks so much to all of you for your magnificient support. When the going got tough, just knowing that so many people were supporting us made such a difference.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is a very special marathon for me. On 20 June 2015 I had a heart attack!! Thanks to my wonderful wife, Catriona, and the great people in Enniskillen and Altnagelvin Hospitals, I survived. A few days later I got 'fixed' with stents fitted by the excellent Dr Peace.
49 weeks on, I am making my comeback. I felt I owed this one to a heart charity and I choose BHF because of the work they do in research, support and the very informative booklets and other information that they produce and give to heart patients and their families.
This one is also special because exactly 7 days after the marathon, on 5 June, I hit the big 60!! To be honest, I don't feel a day over 59.
On 20 June 2015, I wasn't thinking about heart attacks when I ran 6 miles and then went spinning for 45 minutes but it just goes to show, you never can tell.
I hope you will support this great cause and help BHF continue their invaluable work.
