Readathon in Hospitals Online Fundraising Event! · 13 July 2015

Read for Good provides books and stories to children in hospital and to schools who really need them. We run programmes to encourage children to love reading, and provide new books and storyteller visits to 30 UK children’s hospitals. To see our brilliant work go to www.readforgood.org.

Story

A group of bloggers are getting together to raise money for Readathon Hospitals; a very worthy cause that donates books and organises professional storyteller visits to seriously ill children in hospital, to give them something fun to do and to hopefully brighten their day with the power of books and the magical stories held within their pages.

For a child that might not be able to move much, leave the hospital or go anywhere a book could be their ticket to anywhere in the world.

We're taking part in a group 24 hour readathon on Sunday 4th October where other people will choose the book we have to read then we have to read and review it (on our blogs) within 24 hours.

The week after that, we'll be hosting an online Facebook party (Link: https://www.facebook.com/events/806552436124798/) where we'll be doing lots of giveaways, sharing blog posts about things relevant to the cause and/or reading and generally, having a bit of fun!

We're still organising some elements of the event but our plans are well underway and we're all really excited! If you could spare any amount, even as little as £1, both we and the charity would be extremely grateful.

Although we may not know the children this charity supports personally, we believe that every child should have the privilege of a book to escape into.
