Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Cancer. A small word with a huge impact. Massive in fact. So many people I care about have been affected by it, are being affected by it right now. Too many. And that includes me.

My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer a couple of years ago. He's one of the lucky ones. It's being treated and by the end of the treatment he should be fine. My uncle isn't so lucky. He's got leukemia. He was also diagnosed with prostate cancer around the same time as my dad. His form is much more aggressive. He's having radiotherapy for it, which has meant he's had to stop the trial he was on for the leukemia.

I'm sure everyone reading this page has similar stories or knows someone who does.

Many of the treatments and trials that my dad and uncle and countless other people have been on, have been saved by, and on far too many occasions not saved by, exist because of organisations like the
Institute for Cancer Research. In fact the ICR developed the revolutionary prostate cancer drug abiraterone. But there's still work to be done, and there'll be work to be done until no one else dies of cancer.

So I'm undertaking this rather daunting challenge to cycle 299 miles from London to Paris in order to raise an equally daunting amount of money. Which is where you come in – any amount will help and is very much appreciated. Please give what you can. Thank you!

You can follow my training progress here and on my blog – if you want to!
