Story
Please do not feel pressured to give money if you can't! 💕
My Uncle Pete has alzheimers and bit by bit has disappeared, he is still there, his body that is and in his own way has good days and bad days but Uncle Pete the person he was is no more.
He was the uncle that scared me so much when I was little just because he was this big 6ft plus guy - he asked me to play recorder and clarinet with him caus my uncle Pete was a great musician. Being a stubborn (& slightly rebellious 😉) teenager I refused - now I wished I had.
I wish I'd talked more with my uncle Pete as wen you are a stubborn and rebellious teenager you think you've got forever, you think Alzheimer's is something 'funny' that old people get and you ignore.
Now I'm older and realise that 70 something isn't that old - that people can get this cruel disease at 40 something, 50 something and that it isn't 'fun' it takes no prisoners and slowly takes that person from you.
So on Sat 16th Sept at 11.30am I'm swimming 2 miles in the serpentine, whatever the weather and how ever long it takes me to raise money for Alzheimer's - sponsor me if you can, however little I'd really appreciate it!!
Thanks,
Becky 🏊🏻♀️✌️
